Parakraft is dedicated in training the students in parametric modelling using Rhinoceros 3D and grasshopper plugin by conducting workshops and training classes.
Parakraft is a student-run organisation initiated by Mr Sai Srimanth with a vision to serve his fellow students by sharing his skills and knowledge in parametric modelling. Grasshopper being the best parametric software and the professionals trained in it have a higher demand at the market. Parakraft is against the culture of charging high tuition fees from the students and believe the student's interest to learn shouldn't be exploited. As a part of their service, Parakraft team offers a special nominal price to their students, so that the software skill is accessible & affordable to every student. Parakraft offers an advanced level training in parametric modelling beginning from the basics with the motive to spread and share their knowledge with students.
About The Course
Necessity of parametric modelling through Grasshopper?
The aim of our workshops is to improve the workflow with Grasshopper3D and to give an overall understanding about parametric thinking. In our course, we will explore all the native tools of Grasshopper and their relationship to Rhinoceros as well as their data structure and general concepts such as data types, data matching and lists. Grasshopper being a visual programming platform, the course will take on a journey through mathematics, algorithms and computer science and explain applied examples of concepts such as vector geometry and trigonometry. We will show examples from the real world and try to reproduce them to confront you with real-life scenarios.

We believe parametric modelling is the unique solution for various tasks such as organic modelling, automate iterations, quick and smart choice for 3D modelling. Parametric modelling through algorithmic programming or scripting provides great flexibility while designing. Just by changing few parameters would result in the complete change of the design and the same algorithm can be used to solve a similar task elsewhere by adjusting few variables to suit the task, which could generate the model in minutes or less. Whereas the same task might take a very long time while modelled through conventional BIM software’s as the work has to be made again from scratch.
Using scripting languages requires fairly in-depth knowledge about computer programming techniques, which of course, many artists, designers or other creative users don't have access and hence are far from easy to use as creative tools, without investing a great amount of time learning how to use them.
Grasshopper, developed by David Rutten as an official plugin of Rhino. Grasshopper is an algorithmic modelling plugin for Rhino that uses a visual programming language that combines the mostly graphical approach of working in Rhino with the powerful algorithmic techniques found in scripting which makes it an easy and efficient programming tool for designers. Grasshopper allows you to take the reference of geometry objects from Rhino (points, curves, surfaces, etc.) and create the information in grasshopper or bake back grasshopper geometry back into Rhino as their native geometry. There is an efficient bidirectional association that automatically updates the changes made on either Rhino or Grasshopper.
The benefit of using Grasshopper is that you don't need to have a high level of scripting or programming experience to jump right in and start generating interesting models. Grasshopper is a unique programming software and parametric design tool for designers such as architects, interior designers, product designers, jewellery designers and artists.
